Good to the Point of Distraction
This book was so good that it was distracting. I couldn't just sit and read it, I had to sit and write while I read it because every paragraph filled me with further thoughts that I just had to explore on my own. I enjoy books that engage me like this and this one provided such wonderful Classical examples of Greek authors that it actually gave me a variety of new original sources to look through myself. Having a pre-existing understanding of Hellenic culture and religion might help this book be more palatable to the public but I personally find it to be absolutely indespensible to those who would study the origins of European dance culture. The Hellenic world is the greatest and most wealthy in regards to dance tradition in Europe that any person interested in studying dance ethnology would be purely irresponsible to NOT study these sorts of works. This one in particular ties all my other Hellenic recommendations together and should therefore be read last.

Fabulous book, definitely read it if you have the opportunity.
