Rhythm is the Cure by Alessandra Belloni
I was already a fan of Alessandra Belloni before she released an instructional book and DVD concerning her form of trance music. I was more than happy to pick it up and have been more than happy to enjoy watching the DVD of her singing while playing. I find that to be so much more valuable than listening to studio recordings. This book is not scholastic in nature, its practical in nature, which means that it is good for all those who wish to study trance percussion and vocals. Alessandra Belloni is a musical trance master who performs a style of Mediterranean trance that is barely alive today, Tarantella. It is not for me to discuss here what all that means but I will tell you that this book + DVD is on my top five list of educational resources for those who wish to study to become a lead trance musician. It is very short, very inspirational and very practical. I encourage those who study the riq to pick this video up for cross discipline techniques as it certainly broadens the musical repertoire considerably. And naturally everything you learn here, mostly 6/8 variations, can easily be applied to both performance music and trance.
MUST HAVE for lead trance musicians!
