Tea Haven
For the tea loving junkie, this is an *incredible* place. The atmosphere is amazing and they know a lot about tea. It can get quite crowded on the weekend so go early if you want a quiet place to relax. - Lauren , posted 02/23/07

So hip it hurtz
Yes, this is the most unique place in town. Uber hip. They a variety of musical acts throughout the week, which you won't find elsewhere in this town (think czech punk). Service and patronage can be intimidating if you are prone to intimidation or maybe just insecure. If that's the case, go in the middle of the week, or early evening and avoid big shows. Otherwise you will have trouble finding a seat.
They have good food (great hummus), a wonderful selection of beverages (including a few choice bottles of beer and wine), $8 hookah-smoking, and the hippest atmosphere in town (bring your laptop for the wifi, but only if it's really tiny and like, apple).
One of the coolest things about it, is it's layout. It is kind of long (while not being exactly narrow), and comprises of several, unique, well-defined seating areas. There is a Japanese style area with tatami mats and low tables, a cafe/restaraunt style area, a couch filled lounge, a curtained love seat, a hindu-altar themed room, and an outdoor patio in the back. Check it out already. Oh yeah, the owners are great guys too. - mikeize , posted 07/10/06

Fun place
Since I moved from Cville in August, I miss the teas, the rose shakes, the CHAI, the shisha, the conversations, and the feeling of being seen and seeing in a wonderful atmosphere.

A bit cliquish, but if you bring your own friends, who cares? - SwampWitch , posted 06/16/06

best culturally diverse and eclectic setting for Artists and talented people to connect.
This place is located in a very old stone building on the downtown mall. It has a very middle Eastern ambient environ with an enormous selection of teas and wonderful food. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to spice their lives up a bit. I go there and find inspiration at times for My spoken word and poetic impulses. - Mountain River Song , posted 04/07/06
